This was the "go into the woods and fight the bear" vision quest portion of my trip. Tough but incredibly rewarding. Basically you can hike up the narrows as a day hike, or
hike down the river in a 2 day hike, or 1 day if you really fly. I barely made it to my campsite before dark on the 2-day hike (that was a little spooky). I can't imagine how fast you have to be to do the whole
thing in one day. Or exhausted. It wouldn't be much fun. They outfit you with a walking stick, dry bags for your stuff and camera, and neoprene shoes that are a cross
between hiking boots and a wet suit. All very necessary as you have to cross the river about 200 times. I don't think my pics truly captured the magnitude of
1500 ft sheer cliffs on each side. I really started to lose all sense of perspective after a while.
